Affiliation and Funding

The Norwegian Archaeological Survey in the Karystia is conducted under the aegis of the Norwegian Institute at Athens. The project is funded by grants from the Edward A. Schrader Endowment for Classical Archaeology at Indiana University and the Norwegian Institute at Athens.

NASK thanks the following persons and institutions for their support and assistance: The 11th Ephorate for Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities at Chlakida and especially its director, Dr. Pari Kalamara, for granting us the permit to conduct our research, and Dr. Donald Keller and other members of SEEP for providing us with the field house, equipment, and, most importantly, valuable advice.

For additional funds and institutional support for  the international conference An Island Between Two Worlds: The Archaeology of Euboea from Prehistoric to Byzantine Times in Eretria, July 12-14, 2013, we are grateful to the Norwegian Institute at Athens and its director, Prof. Panos Dimas.
